LIST OF ACTIVITIES

R.I.S.E (ROCK-IT-SCIENCE & ENGLISH) CAMP PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG LEARNERS TO LEARN IN A CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT

On 16th of November 2019, a day long camp was organized by the Academy of Language Studies University Technology MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch, together with the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, and the Faculty of Applied Science and The Pan Pacific and Southeast Asia Women’s Association (PPSEAWA) Sarawak Chapter. R.I.S.E (Rock -It -Science & English) Camp provide opportunities for young learners to learn in a conducive environment. R.I.S.E. (ROCK-IT, SCIENCE AND ENGLISH) camp was attended by 53 students from PERYATIM and 23 UiTM Sarawak students. The morning sessions began with informative Information Technology session in the computer labs, followed by English language sessions with 6 English language lectures and 6 student volunteers. Moreover, the camp is hoped to instil the students ‘s interests to pursue their studies in the UiTM Sarawak, where they mingled with UiTM lecturers (facilitators) and student volunteers; thus, were exposed to the learning environment in higher institution of learning). The activities were well -received by the young participants. It is suggested that more of such activities be carried out in the future to motivate,inspire and provide opportunities for these young learners to learn English, IT and Science in a conducive environment.

On 28th 2018, Orphaned children from the Sarawak Orphans Welfare Association (Peryatim) were treated to an opportunity to breakfast with state leaders hosted by SEDC in their preparation to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
